What better way to kick off spring gardening than with a trip to New North on Saturday to partake in their Hello, Spring event? Especially since the Hort Society will have a booth there! Come on out and say hello. We’ll have herbs on hand and will be demonstrating some cool herb-related crafts. You can take one home with you!
We’ll also have Flanders poppy seeds on hand to give away to anyone who wants to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the Great War by producing a pretty patch of of perky poppies. And you can get details about our big annual Plant Sale on May 24! We will also have membership packages on hand if you bring a friend who might want to join our society.
There will be lots of other cool stuff at New North on Saturday, including Laura Wyper of Fallen Fruit (the people who harvest unwanted fruit from local trees), the Country Way, Sandra Hodge Clay and Educational Art Studio. Jade Wellness, the Algoma and Johnson farmers markets, and more. Halina Peltonen from Arts and Crafts On Wheels will have a fun activity for kids….They can decorate a pot and plant a pansy to bring home!
