9. Compost. Clay soil bumming you out? Adding some compost will help your plants grow better. Lemieux will be bringing us a load of this brown gold, so bring your blue box and fill ‘er up for a small fee!

7. Mmmmm….farmers market! The Algoma Farmer’s Market will have some vendors with tasty local goods at our plant sale…and we hear one of them will be bringing trillium!

6. An egg a day keeps the doctor away! What’s better than an egg? How about a free-range, organic egg from Pearce Farm? Farmer Jennie will have a cooler full of her farm-fresh brown eggs!

5. Herbs...If you like to cook and are ready to get your herb garden rolling, we will have a variety of herbs for sale on Saturday.

4. Do the mosquitoes interfere with your gardening? Try attracting more bats to your yard with a Clean North bathouse, available for sale on Saturday. Bats can eat up to 1,000 mosquitoes per hour!

3. Gardening magazines! Our nearly new table is VERY popular, especially the magazines….Many articles are timeless, and these babies sell like hotcakes!

2. Perennials, perennials, perennials….At bargain prices! We will have many garden faves: irises (including some unusual copper-coloured ones!), lily-of-the valley, peonies, daylilies, ladysmantle, geraniums, masterwort, fall sedum, giant phlox, fernleaf bleeding heart, evening primrose, currants, a bridal veil spirea, rhubarb, and more!

1. It’s a fun celebration of gardening and a wonderful way to support the good works of the Hort Society, including the SAH Mental Health and Addictions Garden, the Allard St. Community Garden, and community gardening education.
