Save the Date! 2016 Plant Sale - Don’t Miss it!
PLANT SALE EXTRAVAGANZA!
The Sault Ste. Marie Horticultural Society is teaming up with the Allard Street Community Garden and Clean North to host their main fundraiser at the community garden located at 105 Allard St., (next to Canadian Red Cross).
Whatever the weather (rain or shine), everyone will be on the lookout for plants of all kinds. Besides local greenhouses and nurseries, plant sales are a rich source of pass-a-long plants-those varieties that lend so well to dividing-and the occasional rare or hard-to-find variety.
This plant sale supports a wide variety of community activities and programs delivered by the local Hort. Society and Clean North and offers free gardening advice, demonstrations and handouts. Gardeners can sometimes pick up gently used items at the Nearly New Table as well.
Vegetable seedlings, annuals, perennials, herbs, trees and shrubs are normally potted and labeled for easy identification and are very reasonably priced. The sale starts at its 8 am SHARP so come prepared. Be sure to carry cash (small bills greatly appreciated) or a check book in your pocket along with a pen and line the back of your trunk with plastic in advance.
Feel free to bring your “little red wagon”, wheelbarrow or box to transport your goodies to your vehicle.
The SSM Horticultural Society will have memberships on hand for sale as well. Memberships include monthly meetings, special events and access to discounts at local and area businesses. Clean North will also offer a selection of trees as well as their rain barrels, bat houses and coir.
Don’t miss the Sault Ste. Marie Horticultural Society’s Annual Plant Sale set for Saturday, May 21st from 8 am to 12 noon and will be held at the Allard St. Community Garden located at 105 Allard. St. RAIN OR SHINE!
